bariche... the NBA has never shot a 3! the MLB never hit a home run... and the NFL never threw a pass!
manny_ortiz - 07/11/2008

CHUCK.....The NBA never shot a 3 before 1979/80.....ABA yes
barichere - 07/11/2008

I wish the Gauntlet spelling was a little more forgiving like the normal games. It's killing me. Rueschel instead of Reuschel. Brunnell instead of Brunell. Texeira instead of Teixeira.
manny_ortiz - 07/09/2008

b/c I'm too tired to start throwing another fit... go for it though....
The_U - 07/09/2008

how has prevailors flown under the radar as the new knekirk?
boozer28 - 07/08/2008

thanks. haha. how do you kill that which has no life.
nickw2g - 07/08/2008

Your NBA 2000s gauntlet stats are amazing. You are my Chuck Gauntlet hero.
manny_ortiz - 07/08/2008

plane88 - I was away camping for a couple days, and haven't brushed my teeth, so yeah, my breathe isn't minty fresh.
manny_ortiz - 07/07/2008

Annoucement: Chuck Gauntlet is up. There is a link in the additional games section.

Chuck Gauntlet is a rapid fire, one at a time trivia onslaught. The questions can be limited to one sport and a specific time period or all sports for all time.

You can view other people's gauntlets at the Chuck Gauntlet Leaderboard.

chuck - 07/07/2008

Hey Manny, how's your breath? Assy Fresh? The only way you are making it back into the top 10 is if we both pass knekirk.
plane88 - 07/02/2008

plane88... tell me how my a#* taste!
manny_ortiz - 07/02/2008

Will return to its regular time slot! Every weekday morning you can look for the QOD!
ashdrink - 07/02/2008

Annoucement: The GOTD Archive has been updated. No more fake user names should be necessary to keep people off the board.
chuck - 06/24/2008

Today's GOD covers a lot of ground.
ashdrink - 06/24/2008

There he is again Schnecker... Another "win" for Kneikirk... i think i'll go back to keeping him off that list...
The_U - 06/24/2008

he just a problem that wont go away, like my crabs.
mryan3525 - 06/23/2008

Personally I don't give a rats ass about Kneikirk (Chucksports NC-17 version), but I do about other true Chuckster's cheating. So if someone's going to cheat to beat him, then that only pushes everyone else down a slot on the leaderboard and only proves that they are a better/worse cheater than Kneikirk. So let that loser keep cheating, go back to just being The_U and slapping us around with your crazy sports trivia knowledge, and the rest of us will continue to maintain the integrity of Chuck Sports. And once we stop giving that idiot attention, eventually he'll get bored and go away.
schnecker - 06/21/2008

Kneikirk does still show up. If you click on the Game of the Day results, you'll see that he's credited with wins everyday...
The_U - 06/20/2008

Kneikirk Cheats is getting a bit old. I don't see Kneikirk on the leader board anywhere, so what's the point? Can we please just put this to bed and play on? Though I still love Chuck Sports trivia, the competition has now become moot. I get your point, but enough already.
schnecker - 06/19/2008

Manny Ortiz... right again.
manny_ortiz - 06/18/2008

Today's GOTD is tiring me out.
schnecker - 06/17/2008

Thanks Chuck!
ashdrink - 06/17/2008

Annoucement: The NBA playoffs have unfortunately slowed production on this site. However, the NHL games are up. The 2007 MLB games are also up. Still under construction are updating existing games involving 2007 MLB stats (such as All Time Home Run Leaders) and ChuckLive.
chuck - 06/16/2008

Just like Rocky defeating drago and single handledly putting an end to communism in russia, you took down knekirk and put an end to his reign of terror on the leaderboard! thank you sir
mryan3525 - 06/13/2008

The post about who is kneikirk cheats was hilarious. I actually laughed out loud. But I gotta say, props to the U for manning up and taking responsibility for his alter ego. No one would've been the wiser.
falards - 06/12/2008

I am. i'm doing all i can so that he doesn't keep winning GOTD's. Yes, I do need to get a life, but I will continue to do it until he's gone...
The_U - 06/11/2008

who is "kneikirk cheats"? dude, get a life.
schnecker - 06/10/2008

BOSTON in... SIX BABY (maybe SEVEN). Others?
manny_ortiz - 06/05/2008

BEAT LA! BEAT LA! BEAT LA!
manny_ortiz - 06/05/2008

Agreed! Why even bother having a message board?
ashdrink - 06/04/2008

Why won't you reply to ASHDRINK...............Why won't reply to my EMAILS
barichere - 06/04/2008

- 2007 MLB Games - May '08 - NHL Games - end of May '08
ashdrink - 05/30/2008

You a big Billy Paultz fan, huh?
The_U - 05/29/2008

ashdrink - 05/22/2008

I get an error when I try to access the GOD, so how is the leaderboard updating, Chuck???
ashdrink - 05/21/2008

Dale Davis stole bases?
ashdrink - 05/21/2008

Yeah, well your user name is stupid.
schnecker - 05/20/2008

No need for inferiority. If anyone needs to get a life, it's someone who needs to cheat at fun sports trivia to make himself feel better. Enjoy playing the game? That's laughable. Enjoy cheating? That's more like it.
The_U - 05/20/2008

... is laughable. Maybe I just enjoy playing the game (depite all the incessant insults from the Chuck masses) and don't need the leaderboard to validate myself, as _U_ clearly do. Get a life, douchebag.
kneikirk - 05/20/2008

Wow, even though he doesn't get on the leaderboard, he still cheats his way to the top. He got them all right yesterday, when no one else could get even 75% of the answers. He knows more trivia than all of the rest of us combined.
The_U - 05/20/2008

damn barry carroll and other funky double name spellings.
nickw2g - 05/20/2008

Today's deserves a ZERO rating.
ashdrink - 05/19/2008

GOTD records the time from your last correct answer.
manny_ortiz - 05/19/2008

Chuck, the time displayed for me on today (Fri) GOTD is 18 min and I've been at it for at least 45. Does that mean I'm on Chuck time? Did I earn some bonus points for being so handsome?
schnecker - 05/16/2008

kneejerk! that's great...
manny_ortiz - 05/14/2008

don't think he's on vacation...i think chuck finally took action....thanks chuck!!!
jblasbalg - 05/09/2008

I'd have to agree with Manny on this one. All of these quizzes are random and we all have different areas of knowledge. Almost all of the NFL quizzes seem completely random to me. On another know, sad to see the kneejerk is on vacation today.
schnecker - 05/09/2008

Yes, trivia is random, but to ask about a father who painted portraits is like asking which NBA player has a cousin who runs a brothel in South Africa... or what NFL player has a son with 12 toes... who knows and who cares?
The_U - 05/09/2008

And a couple guys are 2 answers for the same team even though they never left the team.
ashdrink - 05/09/2008

I think today's GOTD includes the name change of the Angels even though it's not technically a team change.
manny_ortiz - 05/09/2008

manny_ortiz - 05/09/2008

I love ya Chuck, but today's QOTD was awful! That's not trivia, that's just totally random.
The_U - 05/09/2008

Same thing with some of the New Jersey guys. NEW/NJN.
troden11 - 05/08/2008

Please explain the 3rd playoff team he was on? DAL, SAS, SAN?
ashdrink - 05/08/2008

Game of the Day today is pretty sweet. Nice work, Chuck!
manny_ortiz - 05/08/2008

wow you tried to cheat blatently and still could not get 100%
mryan3525 - 05/07/2008

you are a douche!
boozer28 - 05/07/2008

Thanks for ruining it for us all
the_U - 05/06/2008

Chuck, can you fix the link?
ashdrink - 05/06/2008

feels good to be back on the GOTD leaderboard... even if it's only temporary.
manny_ortiz - 05/02/2008

feels good to be back on the GOTD leaderboard... even if it's only temporary.
manny_ortiz - 05/02/2008

I think you are damn good at sports trivia, but I also don't think you are completely legit. I don't really care either way, though, because I haven't sniffed the GOTD leaderboard in months. Bastards.
manny_ortiz - 05/01/2008

I want to be your dear friend, you are the Bill Brasky of sports trivia.
boozer28 - 05/01/2008

Is awesome. Wow are you good at trivia...
The_U - 05/01/2008

Knekirk*
mryan3525 - 05/01/2008

Great feedback. We need more noise from you.
ashdrink - 05/01/2008

Annoucement: In lieu of all the cheat talk, we are currently working on a way to flag cheaters and remove them from the leaderboards. Along with that, we are working on:

- ChuckLive - TBD
- 2007 MLB Games - May '08
- NHL Games - end of May '08
- ChuckGauntlet - TBD

If you have any other requests or suggestions, please feel free to email: chuck@chucksports.com.

chuck - 05/01/2008

Annoucement: For GOTD, only players that debuted after 1980. Ozzie started in '78.
chuck - 05/01/2008

Where's Ozzie?
ashdrink - 05/01/2008

once kneikirk is deleted i will stop
asshole - 04/30/2008

so do i
asshole - 04/30/2008

ashdrink - 04/30/2008

Has to be a record, no?
ashdrink - 04/30/2008

Schnecker, you forgot about Terry Kirby's brother.... what did he play, like 3 seasons???
The_U - 04/29/2008

Wow, I can't believe you got Robert Fick, Joel Youngblood and Gene Richards. Dude, you are hands down the smartest trivia guy I have ever met. If you tell me your real name, I'll name my first born after you!
schnecker - 04/28/2008

i don't like him at all...even before teh A-rod B.S...that just put it over the top....of course he's gonna act all tough when he has full cather's gear on...he hit a-rod with his glove wearing a catcher's mask....that pussy... who the 'f' is he, anyway? "controls the game well" is code for "can't hit"...
jblasbalg - 04/28/2008

i can ask you the same about Posada.... I don't like Varitek. I used to, but then he got caught up in the Yankees-Sox stuff, and I like when the players stay above the fray of the fans.... But in the 6 degrees of "U" separtion... I can link Varitek to the "U"... He went to college at Georgia Tech (along w/ Nomar, Jay Payton)... anyhow, his coach in college was Jim Morris, who is now coach of... you guessed it... the #1 ranked Miami Hurricanes!
The_U - 04/28/2008

hate Varitek? please explain yourself. what did he do to (the) u?
manny_ortiz - 04/28/2008

PLEASE SOMEONE STOP HIM!!!!!! absolutely impossible to get them all today. I'd love to hear this reasoning... "oh, i'm good and know more than you" BULLSHIT! I'm not putting down the answers for others to see, but there are about 5-8 of those names that are ridicuolous. I can understand being able to get a few, but there's no way you can get them all - especially in that amount of time. can you please stop being an asshole? seriously. just stop. i'm getting really annoyed that something i have fun with is being destroyed. it's not about me winning, it's about the ridiculousness of cheating every day. I will accuse him. Because it's just ridiculous. If there's ANYONE here who thinks it's legit (or even possibly legit), especially today, I'd like to hear the reasoning.
The_U - 04/28/2008

Just because he made a rod the bitch that he is?
mryan3525 - 04/28/2008

The_U - 04/28/2008

schnecker - i don't see how any Mets fan could hate Bill Buckner. No one hates Varitek... he's not Posada. Hate Pedro? - please don't be jealous. Will Cordero? - can't hate him w/o knowing exactly how crazy his wife was. Hate Nomar? - why? The only Red Sox that could be hated never wore a uniform... Mr. Danielle Duquette.
manny_ortiz - 04/28/2008

Bill Buckner, hands down. How sad!
schnecker - 04/25/2008

I can't believe I'm going to do this, but in defense of kneikirk, the reason he might have got his last two answers in 2 minutes is that he might have got a 2-for-1. Todays' GOTD had a lot of them. Also on the topic of cheating, I have to come clean....I had to look up the spelling of Devereaux. I will now give myself 10 lashings to repent of my sin.
schnecker - 04/25/2008

of all time? Pedro the head hunter. current roster? Jason Veritek other notables? Will Cordero; Carl Everett Red Sox Fans hate former sox players: Clemens; Damon; Nomar (for no reason)
jblasbalg - 04/25/2008

Thanks......I understand...we're saying the same thing and we're on the same page for the first time....this guy needs to be gone
barichere - 04/25/2008

i don't get your 2nd question... he was on the leaderboard in like 3rd place or something with 144 points, and 20+ minutes. i refreshed a few minutes later, and he was at 150 points and whatever time it says he completed the quiz in...
The_U - 04/25/2008

Maybe we should thank kneikirk for the way he has fired many of us up the message board has been great and we got something new from CHUCK..............than expel him
barichere - 04/25/2008

So watch the leader board as it posted he was still playing the game?
barichere - 04/25/2008

He had 144 points at 20+ minutes
The_U - 04/25/2008

How do you know about the last two minutes of his game? Can we watch another user play?
barichere - 04/25/2008

Feud games are the subjective opinions of Chuck users. Chuck needs 100+ answers in order to amass enough popular opinion to be able to play the games. At some point, we should all ask 5-10 friends/family/coworkers/enemies/teammates to fill out the games. Who knows... maybe they'll get hooked too!
manny_ortiz - 04/25/2008

Can we vote to expel kneikirk?
The_U - 04/25/2008

I can't think of one...
manny_ortiz - 04/25/2008

Shocking that he barely beat me. the guy still needed 2 correct answers in the last 2 minutes, and it took him 1 minute. How many of you are able to come up with that 1 or 2 last answers right away? Don't you need to rack your brain to come up with the last few??? Not kenikirk! They just come so easily ... all the time....
The_U - 04/25/2008

Manny, we are Chucksports addicts. That's the first step to recovery though, right? Chuck, why a feud question about most hated yankee, and not one about most hated red sox?
The_U - 04/25/2008

For all of their sports trivia knowledge, ashdrink and The U don't know what a boycott is... hahahahahaha
manny_ortiz - 04/25/2008

Thank You............... CHUCK
barichere - 04/25/2008

not only did he wipe the board in under 16 minutes, he had 156 guesses. thats an anwer every 6 seconds. Is that to make your % look better? not sure how you can think of and type that many names in that amount of time.
mryan3525 - 04/24/2008

If someone is a confirmed cheater, then they should be banned from the leaderboard to not annoy the loyal users. Still tough to determine if someone is legit though.
manny_ortiz - 04/24/2008

I think I'm joining the boycott until kneikirk is gone. This is downright blatant and obnoxious.
The_U - 04/24/2008

Do you mean like Kneikirk changing his username to Mike84?
The_U - 04/24/2008

Chucklive is a great idea and that's where it starts with an idea...........no one going anywhere....CHUCKLIVE is something CHUCK should look into maybe it can't work....that's ok a user came up with something new.....for me that's the important thing......I know there's more great idea out there let see them
barichere - 04/24/2008

LOVE the idea!
schnecker - 04/24/2008

Chuck is working, do not worry... he's got a few ideas percolating, but is trying to close loopholes instead of just going with a half-assed new format. Be patient...
The_U - 04/24/2008

I like it Bro something new.... but the best part is that you came up with and you posted it.....thanks Bro.....CHUCK what have you come with.......we're waiting........I'm hanging out here at 108,108 until I see something new
barichere - 04/24/2008

We need the introduction of a new format to settle this once and for all...live head to head battles with 10 seconds or less to answer questions....people challenging people...brothers against brothers... This....is....ChuckLive....
jblasbalg - 04/23/2008

I cannot stay away! You will not hear anymore finger pointing out of me. I'll take the New Guy at his word.
ashdrink - 04/23/2008

Chuck, can I buy the ChuckSports movie rights from you? Cheating, lies, deceit, boycotting - this has all the makings of a Spike TV movie. Kneikirk does smell a little fishy - take the panties off buddy and let us Chuck obsessed gamers play this game untainted. A lot of work has gone into the design of this website and it would be a shame if people stopped playing.
schnecker - 04/22/2008

kneikirk - are you serious? perhaps the greatest compliment is being so good at something that you are an accused cheater. so, are you saying, that you actually don't cheat? if so, that's impressive. let it be known that when The U came to chucksports.com and started destroying games, he, too, was accused of cheating, and has been since absolved of such slander. this isn't some weak congressional hearing where you can point your finger into the camera and say you've never, ever googled an answer... but seriously... are you legit???
manny_ortiz - 04/22/2008

1) You're cheating 2) You're cheating 3) You're cheating. It's one thing to think you know more than the rest of us. But to have the percentage correct combined with the time is just not possible. Anything else? Ok, so just shut up and leave.
The_U - 04/22/2008

For all the whiners posting messages to the board, understand the only true solution to your collective problem is not something Chuck can do at all ... You fellas need to accept that: (1) sometimes, some days (not always), I am good ... and at the very least, better than you; and (2) if you're *this* worked up over a free internet game, you need to find something more substantive and fulfilling in your miserable lives. Cast aspersions, throw insults, do whatever ... just realize that the more you carry on like children, the more ridiculous you look. I actually know some sports trivia. Deal with it and move on, losers.
kneikirk - 04/22/2008

CHUCK my Bro.................You said something about a meeting with your board...Well what are you going to do? It was a easy GOTD but 10mins...........this guy must have two user names......come on CHUCK fix this now Ashdrink's BOYCOTT sound's like a plan to me.........everyone needs to help..... post what you think CHUCK should do........ would you BOYCOTT the game if CHUCK does nothing.........CHUCK FIX THIS NOW
barichere - 04/22/2008

manny_ortiz - 04/22/2008

right on ashdrink, i dont think he could even type that many names in during 10 minutes. let alone those names that were career backups.
mryan3525 - 04/22/2008

AGREED!!!! Now he's just doing it to get under our skin... f-ing unreal! Can he be banned?
The_U - 04/22/2008

10 fucking minutes? I'm boycotting the site until that fuckfaceis gone. -Ash
ashdrink - 04/22/2008

This guy is not even trying to make it look possible anymore.
mryan3525 - 04/22/2008

Wow, you go to NY to visit your girlfriend for the weekend, but still have time for chuck in your life. That is quite impressive indeed.
bunkscene - 04/21/2008

Bro..... welcome..... I've been waiting all weekend to see you pass the 100,000pts...well done
barichere - 04/21/2008

Look who's back! I love this guy!
ashdrink - 04/21/2008

Yes, and it's not the first time, either.
ashdrink - 04/21/2008

i typed in the last name correctly and got it wrong. any one else have this problem?
mryan3525 - 04/21/2008

ooops
ashdrink - 04/18/2008

Let's stick to our Chuck names. I don't want to get to close to anyone.
ashdrink - 04/18/2008

we are all proud jason
mryan3525 - 04/18/2008

My parents are proud....
The_U - 04/18/2008

Playing from home is a definite home court advantage (maybe I'll just retire to play Chuck full time?). I was wondering why The_U has fallen off on his times. Congratulations on getting a job - your parents must be very proud! As far as how to make this game better, I think it's already great the way it is. How do we cut back on cheating? Maybe Chuck can give us any suspected cheater's home address and we'll cut his cable? Just an idea.
schnecker - 04/18/2008

WHEN YOU GET TO 1998 AND YOU GUESS WITH A 6 FOOT POINT GUARD FROM CINCY, DO NOT PUT THE SPACE IN HIS NAME. IF YOU PUT THE SPACE CHUCK WILL MARK YOU WRONG, NICK SPELLS HIS LAST NAME WITH A SPACE BUT NOT CHUCK

barichere - 04/18/2008

Bro.....don't just DISAGREE....that's easy....how would you FIX IT
barichere - 04/17/2008

many of us do these at work and cannot stay on the page the whole time. meetings, phone calls, etc. make us need to be able to save and come back. it also is why it takes us so long some days... when i was unemployed, i was able to just do it, and either finish or give up. now that i'm working again, i see that it can't always be done that way.
The_U - 04/17/2008

My Bro's...the game needs our help....there's to much name calling and finger pointing............let's get together and fix it.........here what I think can be done my CHUCK to help the GOTD 1. A time limit maybe 20 to 30 mins 2. NO......save and come back...........you start and you finish Bigger problems two PC'S or two user name's This is only what I think....come on you guys post what you think can help the game.
barichere - 04/17/2008

I love the fact that we do NBA Draft questions, like the whole first round every year in the 2000's, and I think it would be great to do it for the NFL too.
plane88 - 04/17/2008

exactly make it easy on your self you saw what happened to Clemens when he "misrememberd" what happened.
mryan3525 - 04/17/2008

I don't like it that kneikirk is likely cheating, but it does make it a lot more fun when I beat him the old fashioned way - with 20+ years of baseball knowledge reading boxscores and watching SportsCenter. Isn't that what it's really all about - the champion inside us all? Kneikirk, if you really are cheating, just fess up, we'll all tell you what a prick you are, and then we can all have a laugh as we whoop your Barbie Doll kid-playing ass.
schnecker - 04/17/2008

Annoucement: It has come to our attention that some users are concerned about the integrity of Chucksports, specifically cheating on the GOTD. This is not something we at Chucksports take lightly but it is also something that is not easy for us to regulate. Stats are stats and facts are facts. If the stats are available for Chucksports, they are online somewhere.

This is not an accusation and everyone is, of course, innocent until proven guilty. The Board of Directors will be meeting in the near future to figure out how to address this issue in the appropriate manner.

The identity of Chucksports comes from its users and we fully appreciate that.

chuck - 04/16/2008

I agree that it's ridiculous. The only difference between those and the GOTDs, though, are that you can get clues on the old quizzes. But I still think getting them perfect is unrealistic...
The_U - 04/16/2008

The draft cheating really pisses me off, because it is impossible to know everyone drafted in the 1st round from 1993. Ridiculous. The cheater(s) should at least try to be discreet.
ashdrink - 04/16/2008

Hey bro, I'm all for calling out cheaters, but how can we stop it? About the integrity, check out this post from January: Either some people are autistic, or some people are cheating. I don't know who Nickw2g is, but some of the stats on his games are a little fishy. For example: He went 28 for 28 in the 1997 NBA Draft first round picks. He went 10 for 10 in the #2 overall NBA picks in '70s. He was a perfect 24 for 24 in NBA Draft first round picks in 1983, 1984, 1986, 1987, 1988, and 1989. And that is just a sampling of random old games that it would be unreasonable to think that anyone can get 100% perfect without looking up answers. Take a look...here is a link to the details of his game history: http://www.chucksports.com/Users.aspx?userkey=108 i guess innocent until proven guilty....but....just saying.... jblasbalg - 01/23/2008
ashdrink - 04/16/2008

Al Gore did not invent the internet so some turd living in their mother's basement could practice googling sports trivia answers. www.chucksports.com is a place where sport fans from all walks of life come together to participate in a unique question-and-answer sports trivia format of gaming. We have our own stats based on our knowledge of the statistics of others. ChuckSports has always been fortunate that the daily contributors to the site, the people who make ChuckSports great, are upstanding indifividuals of the utmost integrity. They flood the answer boxes with correct answers, they stack the leaderboard, and they tolerate the occassional GOTD typo. It has never been a priority for Chuck to police the cheating on the site, because it has never been a visible problem, just like steroids in the MLB circa 1990. Enter kneikirk, aka the Barry Bonds of ChuckSports... The time has come to put this MotherChucker in his place, and for him to learn that ChuckSports isn't a place of unethical standards and that living in his mother's basement isn't "cool" anymore.

We lost the integrity long ago.
ashdrink - 04/16/2008

clearing the board in 15 minutes with almost a 50% come on now.
mryan3525 - 04/16/2008

Can we have a poll question as to how many people think this guy is cheating?
The_U - 04/16/2008

I think the team listed is the team they came from and the actual # of TD's is the team they went to. Given that you pretty much have QBs or RBs/WRs on each of these football games, I just guess as many names as I can possibly think of. Much different than baseball where you can have 8 offensive positions to guess from - yet for baseball, I tend to have more educated guesses - i wonder why that is?
schnecker - 04/16/2008

Some are the team they went from, and some are the team they went to, right?
The_U - 04/16/2008

This is ridiculous. Why do you feel the need to cheat at this?
The_U - 04/16/2008

Bro.......K's not Wins...... you should be CHUCK'S proof reader I misses it ...........I saw 95 wins and 2nd most wins...not that it would have changed anything for me....I always check when I think I know something.....Welch and Stewart 20 game winner same team 1990....will was I ever wrong
barichere - 04/15/2008

Well then #18 might not be wrong...
The_U - 04/15/2008

The title of the game and description don't match. The description should match the title "which player has the second most STRIKEOUTS (not wins) for a team that won 95 or more games". Still didn't help me much when I figured that one out. Hence why Dave Stewart is not in there because in 1990, another player had the second most K's and in 1992, Stewart had the most K's.
schnecker - 04/15/2008

Bro.........where's Dave Stewart 21 game winner 2nd to Bob Welch 27 game winner 1990 A's

hey guys, I might have left our common workplace (yes it's true, not all Chuck players are stay-at-home sports trivia nerds), and my Chuck playing hours will now be limited, but I'm hooked on Chuck and I ain't goin nowhere. Chuck and morning coffee go hand-in-hand and it's a tough addiction to break.

You be on it bro..... Looks like McGwire was traded to the Cards twice.....Kent to the Giants twice.....is there more?
barichere - 04/11/2008

Yes I did really well on today's GOTD, but I didn't really get it. Most RBI's for a new team. Is that in their first year with the new team? Subsequent years after? Confused as to why some guys showed up more than once for the same team.
schnecker - 04/10/2008

Dude - my bad. Seriously, honest mistake #2. I'm an idiot. I guess I need the Chucksports name recognition software or something...
manny_ortiz - 04/09/2008

the only explanation i have is that he is the schwab, but that is unlikey.
mryan3525 - 04/09/2008

Who is this guy? Do you have 2 names or something. You do it once under one name, get all the answers, and then enter them as kneikirk? It's absolutely impossible to score the scores you've been putting up. impossible....
The_U - 04/09/2008

manny, maybe if you spelled the name right there'd be a plug....
The_U - 04/09/2008

jblasberg - I didn't think about the payout number. I thought you would just disregard entries that didn't make arrangements to pay. I guess you have more faith in people... Hey - how about you send an email to all the people in the pool and give a nice plug to chucksports.com? Chuck has some nice features in the works, but they require a bit more users to be effectively fun...
manny_ortiz - 04/09/2008

ashdrink - 04/09/2008

Steve...OK...i've confirmed that your 2nd entry and ashdrink's entry are exactly identical...we'll adjust the payouts accordingly.
jblasbalg - 04/09/2008

Sounds reasonable, I guess...but I'm still a little confused...are you saying that his entry is a duplicate, and that we have to pay out $10 less to the winners? Yes, Chuck paid us for all of your entries.... Ashdrink...no hard feelings, just want to do right by the good people who have entered our pool, and want to be able to communicate to the winners how much they actually won...
jblasbalg - 04/09/2008

This website is the best...full of really nice people. I can't say enough good things about it.
ashdrink - 04/09/2008

jblasberg - that was my mistake. I asked him to do a sheet for me, but he was already logged into cbssportsline.com for office pool... so I just copied the sheet under my username. Sorry for the confusion. Did Chuck give you our entry monies?
manny_ortiz - 04/08/2008

I'm still waiting to hear ashdrink's defense as to why he signed up for an NCAA Tournament pool and then never paid his entry fee...
jblasbalg - 04/08/2008

No spat DC.... it's all in fun
The_U - 04/08/2008

If I knew their were verbal spats amongst the leaders on chucksports, I would come back here more often.
bunkscene - 04/08/2008

Hey Ashdrink- Just found out that you're one of the few people who were in my NCAA pool and have yet to pay. Have you sent the payment yet?
The_U - 04/08/2008

Does ashdrink = Mr. T because he is before The U?
manny_ortiz - 04/08/2008

I'm implying that you're making a big push today, and will not stop til you're in 1st...
The_U - 04/07/2008

What are you implying?
ashdrink - 04/07/2008

Not much going on today other than trying to overtake me?
The_U - 04/07/2008

NC State won the title in '74
ashdrink - 04/02/2008

Is wrong... There were two teams that won championships in that time frame. 1966 and 1974. I guessed the '74 team and got it wrong...

Annoucement: I apologize for the typos in previous Game Of The Days. Chuck was out of town.

We are currently working on a new feature that could take things to another level. More to come on this the closer it gets.

I think I've only heard of 5 of the guys I missed. But I will acknowledge that the guy from UTSA transferred there from non other than The U, so I should've gotten that one!
the_u - 03/14/2008

Agreed. I can't believe people follow teams and players like Centenary (apologies Robert Parish), UTSA, Cornell, etc. Most of the one's I got were common last names, and of course, Chester Copperpot.

barichere - 03/11/2008

Annoucement: The people have spoken. Friday's game will be about college basketball. Good luck everyone.
chuck - 03/11/2008

You need to check more than just Iverson.
barichere - 03/11/2008

Iverson averaged 23.5 ppg in 1996 as a rookie, yet he's not the answer to today's question for 1996.

Any new NCAA quizzes coming up in the spirit of March Madness???

I wondered the same thing, kind of threw me off seeing stats like Jerry Rice played arena league ball with 3,875 receiving yards!!
Deuce97 - 03/03/2008

What are the numbers? No one has ever had 3000 receiving yards in a season... nor do i think anyone has had that many in back-to-back seasons...

Annoucement: Tomorrow's GOTD will be better. I promise.
chuck - 02/05/2008

On today's GOTD, how are Plaxico Burress and Amani Toomer NOT one of the Giant's leading receivers? Please don't take offense at this Chuck, but I'm not a huge fan of these single team quizzes (ie. 49ers, Braves, etc.). But I understand that it's got to be tough coming up with new quiz ideas.
schnecker - 02/05/2008

thanks, ashdrink...now i know the answer to today's qotd...
jblasbalg - 02/04/2008

There are FIVE guys ahead of Banks on the HR list who have not played in the WS. Time to update the database.
ashdrink - 02/04/2008

I think it's wrong. Like Giants beating the Patriots wrong so maybe it's intentional...
manny_ortiz - 02/04/2008

It's okay suspend your disbelief, football is my game, you gamers with over 100,000 need not worry, i am pretty much a one sport man, don't expect this sort of output from me.
Deuce97 - 01/31/2008

I agree with The U on this one. That's impossible and a damn shame, too.
ashdrink - 01/29/2008

Maybe Deuce is a Niners' fanatic? I agree, looks a bit suspect, but have to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.
schnecker - 01/29/2008

You've got to be kidding me. Getting all correct at 71% in less than 10 minutes is absolutely impossible.
the_U - 01/29/2008

I didn't do very well on the GOTD today. But there seem to be a problem with Mr. William's first name. His name is John Williams his nickname is "Hot Rod" you list him always as Hotrob Williams, he was John "Hot Rod" Willams, check it out for me, maybe he had a name change. He played for Cleveland in the 80's was the highest paid 6th man in the NBA at the time. I could be wrong let me know.
barichere - 01/29/2008

I think you've put 1st place out of reach, brotha. But I'll always be the first MuthaChucker to crack 100k.
ashdrink - 01/24/2008

Either Nickw2g has some weird obsession or gift when it comes to NBA draft picks or he's on trivialroids. Unless...Dr. Naismath appeared to him in a dream and imbedded him with NBA draft knowledge to share with us all? We will await his public response.
schnecker - 01/24/2008

Does Chucksports have a sports trivia steroid policy?
manny_ortiz - 01/24/2008

Does Chucksports have a sports trivia steroid policy?
manny_ortiz - 01/24/2008

Either some people are autistic, or some people are cheating. I don't know who Nickw2g is, but some of the stats on his games are a little fishy.

For example:
He went 28 for 28 in the 1997 NBA Draft first round picks.

Take a look...here is a link to the details of his game history:

http://www.chucksports.com/Users.aspx?userkey=108

i guess innocent until proven guilty....but....just saying....

jblasbalg - 01/23/2008

We have got some serious college basketball/NBA buffs here. 100+ points in today's GOTD is incredible.
schnecker - 01/23/2008

i have the same problem with QOTD. I click on it, and nothing happens.
jblasbalg - 01/23/2008

everythimg i click to play the qotd, it doesn't display the question. something i am not getting?
jdeegz - 01/23/2008

Hey Chuck, any plans to put up a leaderboard about the QOTD? I'm very interested to see how others do in that.
the_U - 01/23/2008

GO BIG BLUE!!!
jblasbalg - 01/21/2008

I'm back baby. Thanks Chuck for fixing the password retrieval. What great customer service! I no longer need to hide behind my alias of BuckingBroncos.

The U and D-Wade sitting in a tree. Playing ChuckSports Q-O-T-D. First comes love, then comes marraige, then comes The U in a baby carraige.
manny_ortiz - 01/18/2008

I must confess to my man crush on Dwayne Wade. However, I had no idea about that answer. Not really trivia in my opinion. That's like asking how many pitches Josh Beckett threw in the World series.
the_U - 01/18/2008

Whoever got today's QOTD has man-love for Dwayne Wade.
buckingbroncos - 01/18/2008

I am proud to say that I am watching ashdrink live to see when he breaks 100k. This is a truly amazing chucksports accomplishment.
bunkscene - 01/17/2008

Look out leaderboard, I plan on being in teh top 12 in about 2 months.
bunkscene - 01/17/2008

Congrats to ashdrink for giving all Chucksports users hope by overcoming The U on the Chucksports leaderboard. Is The U finished? Where is Jake McBride when you need him? ashdrink is my new Chucksports hero!!! As Jimmy V. said, "Don't ever give up, don't ever give up."
manny_ortiz - 01/17/2008

Who are you? Where did you come from? Why are you knocking me out of the top 5? You have ruined my life, and now I plan to go get a life. Yours truly, Manny Ortiz.
manny_ortiz - 01/17/2008

I've heard of all of those guys, but McBride? Do you live in a bubble?
buckingbroncos - 01/16/2008

Chuck, can you also fix the password retrieval. I don't remember my password. Signed: Anonymous
buckingbroncos - 01/16/2008

Annoucement: Team ERA leaders by season should be corrected now. Thanks for letting me know guys.
chuck - 01/15/2008

Yeah, it was me. Unfortunately, the following names weren't on the list that I guessed as well - Jose Lind, Cesar Cedeno, Sid Bream, Von Hayes, Bo Diaz, Rick Monday, Ken Oberkfell, Orlando Merced, Jerome Walton, Al Oliver, Cecil Cooper, Dickie Thon et al.
the_U - 01/15/2008

Whoever got Bake McBride in today's GOTD... 1) U need a life and/or job 2) U should try talking to girls instead of sports dudes 3) U are probably The U 4) U are my ChuckSports hero. Good day.
manny_ortiz - 01/15/2008

There should be a web form to create games with all of the necessary info that needs to be stored into the Chuck db for all features to work (ie, the name lookups, hints, etc.). Once a user submits a game, it goes into the "committee" members mailboxes who are responsible for verifying the game... and maybe putting it into a category (like "BCS Champs of 90s). If all/some/majority of the committee approves the game, then it becomes live. Users would get credit for creating games, etc. More games is good for Chuck.
manny_ortiz - 01/11/2008

i agree with Steve, great idea, but how it is implemented is critical. weekly conference, maybe have require it to be played a certain amount of times with in the first week or it gets dropped.
jdeegz - 01/11/2008

A great way to expand the Chuck games would be to allow user's to create games. There would have to be some manual intervention (like a game review committee or something), but that would be the fastest way without having Chuck kill himself. Would loyal Chuck users be willing to do that? I dunno...
manny_ortiz - 01/11/2008

That's not even a real sport. This is the USA. But I've been wanting more college hoops/football for awhile...
the_U - 01/11/2008

I agree. Can we add college football and basketball, too?
ashdrink - 01/11/2008

how bout hockey eh? maybe some MLS too?
jdeegz - 01/10/2008

yo. cool msg board.
jdeegz - 01/10/2008

Annoucement: You guys are right. This will be looked at and fixed in the near future. Thanks for the feedback.
chuck - 01/09/2008

ERA is mess, Koufax led the NL in 1962,63,64,65 and 66 But you have him not even the leader on the Dodgers for the same years, tell me what's up with that.
barichere - 01/09/2008

Hey Chuck, my colleague just alerted me to the fact that MLB ERA team leaders is all f'd up. Check out 2006 ATL for example...answer should be John Smoltz right? There's numerous others we've checked.
schnecker - 01/09/2008

I am running an NFL playoff pool. Each entry to the pool will cost $10, and each person is limited to a maximum of 3 entries. Each participant must submit a lineup prior to the first NFL Playoff Game (Saturday, January 5, 4:30 pm). Lineups should be submitted via email to this email address (jblasbalg@gmail.com), and entry fees can be sent to me at the following address: Jeff Blasbalg 2 Hampshire Drive Natick, MA 01760 PayPal may be used to submit entry fees as well. However, all entries paid for using PayPal will cost $12 per entry , as for some reason my PayPal account charges me for every payment made to me. PayPal payments can be sent to jblasbalg@gmail.com. All entry fees must be sent prior to 4:30pm Saturday, January 5, for consideration. The way the pool works is that each entry consists of a roster that must contain the following: 1 QB 2 RBs 2 WRs 1 TE 1 K 1 Defensive/Special Teams (choose Team) 1 Coach Each player / team / coach accumulates points throughout the playoffs based on the point structure described below. The only caveat is that you cannot select more than one player / team / coach from any one team. So, if you choose Peyton Manning as your QB, you cannot have Reggie Wayne as one of your WRs, you cannot have Tony Dungy as your coach, and you cannot have Indianapolis Colts as your Defense/Special Teams. Just to make this perfectly clear, all legal entries will have their 9 roster spots represented by 9 different playoff teams. If any of your players' teams lose in the playoffs, you will no longer receive any points for that roster spot. Remember, wild card teams have the potential to play more games, but may be more likely to lose, so choose your players accordingly. Email entries to jblasbalg@gmail.com
jblasbalg - 01/02/2008

Ok - I get it. It's leaders in passing or receiving and not including rushing. Right?
manny_ortiz - 12/20/2007

I think today's Game of the Day is broken... unless I don't understand the question. I know the Patriots running backs, but none have appeared. To cut Chuck some slack, he has been travelling this week for his "real" job.
manny_ortiz - 12/20/2007

Annoucement: The people have spoken and the Face Game will be going under review for possible elimination from Game of the Day. If it does get removed, there will be one final Face Game for old times sake. It had a good run.
chuck - 12/19/2007

Chuck, it was a good idea, but I think the face game needs to go.
schnecker - 12/19/2007

85% accuracy in less than 7 minutes to enter that many names?? C'mon, that's ridiculous! Barichere, 95% accuracy for a game played 17 years ago?

Congrats Ash!!!
manny_ortiz - 12/18/2007

No new game today?
the_U - 12/18/2007

Thanks Wonger. This stuff is happening too much for The U. In addition to sending th emost players to the NFL, I think they also have had the most deaths of any program in the last 10 years. Very Sad.
the_U - 11/27/2007

Nice work, shane! I didnt know you could spell PPG. I thought we only taught you and Alvin Mack how to spell ADIDAS.
manny_ortiz - 11/27/2007

The_U, I am sorry about your boy. He was a great player.
cwonger - 11/27/2007
