chuck: The U is correct. New games, questions and gauntlets are only during the week and usually not on holidays. As for the Gauntlet Rankings, we'll put up a percentage column. In the future, we're going to throw in the ability to complete any gauntlet you may have missed, which will put everyone on even ground when it comes to number correct out of total (possibly) answered. Also, proposing a question for QOTD can now be done anonymously. There's a checkbox on the question proposal screen...this way, you don't have to worry about getting heat from others for answering your own question. Users that want credit and/or don't mind the heat can still feel free to post un-anonymously. And, that video is pretty sick.

The_U: Seriously neasternboy21... if you've noticed, there aren't new games, questions, or gauntlets over the weekend or on national holidays. it's not like you need to pay a fee to join and aren't getting things you're paying for...

jbeeegood: 1. neasternboy21, settle down a bit. chuck doesn't get paid to do this and he updates it often enough, it may not be EVERY SINGLE DAY, but show a little respect for the guy, he started this whole thing and he does a good job with it. 2. I do have a question, can the Gauntlet rankings be according to percentage correct? for instance, right now someone with 30/100 is ranked ahead of someone with 28/80 despite the latter being better.

chuck: That's a good question. We looked into it and without going in to too much detail, there's an update process that runs daily in the morning. Two days ago, it didn't run until after you had started the game. After it ran, Farnsworth, Nelson and Qualls would have been accepted as correct answers. The 10% must have come from people playing the game later on in the day. In the future, we'll try to ensure that this doesn't happen.

The_U: Not whining here, just asking... why do some names work for some, but not others? for instance, in yesterday's game, i entered farnsworth, nelson, and qualls, but didn't get credit for any of them. i double checked, and i spelled them correctly. then when i went to the answers page, i saw that 10% got farnsworth and qualls, and more got farnsworth. chuck, do you know why this happens?

chuck: Glad U asked. This week will be baseball from the 2000s and 1990s. Next week, going to include some basketball. Week after that probably some football. Week after that, we're going to try to roll out a feature so that you guys can create your own gauntlets. Then U can make all the Miami University games you can think up...

chuck: Hey all, good to see some chatter on the message board as of late. A couple of new features to mention. First, under the GOTD stats from yesterday is a link to last year's GOTD. For those that weren't around a year ago or for those that want to finish off a game they started last year, feel free to check it out. In an effort to reduce cheating (or at least make it a little tougher), any game with over 20 answers requires getting 10 right before being able to give up. Just an added deterrent to having two accounts. I'd also like to (re)introduce a new and improved version of Chuck Gauntlet. GOTD meets QOTD. Click the Play button over to the left and it will take you to today's Gauntlet. Along with GOTD and QOTD, we will try to have a new Gauntlet of the Day. Thanks to you guys for making the site what it is...and good luck chuckin.
